Slot car and motor editing pages are different than traditional mediawiki editing pages. These pages contain special forms designed to collect data in a way that is easily searched by users of the site. The following sections cover each page's form in detail.

Editing Slot Car Articles

Slot car article edit forms consist of five tabs: Images, Overview, Chassis Details, Documents, and Notes.

Images Tab

This tab is where you can upload images to be displayed in the car's image carousel. There are ten pre-defined slots for images with suggested perspectives. Clicking on the Upload file link will open a dialog box where you can select the file for upload and add any comments. After uploading the file the file name should appear on the form in the field you selected for upload. Please note that you must also save the document for the file name to be associated with the article.

Overview Tab

The Overview tab contains general information about the car such as Make, Model, Scale Model Manufacturer, drivers, etc... The *Red fields are required when you create a new car and should already be complete when you edit the article. Please note that all measurements are metric, so enter values in millimeters or in grams. (Notice that the required fields also make up the title of the car.)

Chassis Details Tab

The Chassis Detail tab contains detailed information about the chassis. There is a great deal of information here and you are encouraged to complete as much as possible. However we realize that not all of the information is readily available. Please note that all measurements are metric, so enter values in millimeters or in grams.

Documents Tab

The Documents tab is a place to upload documents that include press releases, technical sheets, and parts lists for cars.

Notes Tab

The Notes tab is where you can enter your general comments about a slot car. You can use all valid MediaWiki markup in this field as well as referencing images, and other media. (i.e. YouTube videos.)

Editing Motor Articles

Motor articles only have two tabs: Motor Details and Notes.

Motor Details Tab

The Motor Details tab is where you can enter all of the relevant information about a slot car motor. There are fields for manufacture rated values as well as as-tested values.

Notes Tab

The Notes tab is where you can enter your general comments about a slot car. You can use all valid MediaWiki markup in this field as well as referencing images, and other media. (i.e. YouTube videos.)
